Adieu 2008

Well the year is drawing to close.. seem to have got here on the bullet train as it really feels like no time at all since New Years Eve 2007.... think its a sign of getting older... time doesnt go faster.. I just forget more of it LOL

Had a nice (but quiet) christmas with hubby and kids.... and the babies... (all my four legged grandchildren ... not that I am complaining.. I dont wish to be a free babysitter for the next generation - though ONE of the two legged variety would be nice) and no, I dont mean a canine amputee.. children.. are you reading this?? LOL

I rarely make 'NY resolutions' as I feel if its worth doing then it should be done immediately - not put off till the new year.. but have vowed this year to start working my way through all the craft books I have bought and actually start making things from them.. am off to a good start with this with my regular thing with Lucy, Elizabeth, Glenda and Barb.

The CS retreat (also on that bullet train) is fast approaching.. from what seemed eons away is now only 10 weeks away!!  Tutors are looking forward to it.. students looking forward it.. I can't wait to unviel everything lol... gonna be the best time...

Also new for 2009 is a new blog  2Cre8Art started by Barb Thomas and myself where we will be featuring tutorials/techniques and challenges each month with regular prizes for contributing.. first technique is up tomorrow .. its an oldie but a goodie and I hope you can play...

I would like to take opportunity to thank Eva and Lucy for their help with the retreat... Barb T, Eva A, Lucy L, Glenda L, Debbie B for their friendship and fun times over the year.. thankyou also to my kids (for NOT moving back home this year) and to everyone who signed up for the retreat... you are in for a great time and it WILL BE like no other retreat you have attended.. that's a promise.

Flat out like a lizard drinking....

Being busy is not my preferred way to spend a week.... and at the risk of sounding antisocial... a week of constant socialising rates even lower LOL

'twas my Birthday on Tuesday.... and between work - every one of my free days since has been taken up with dinners and  visits... Lebanese restaurant Thurs...Deb's shop Friday...Chinese Saturday...... today is my Grand Neice Ella's birthday so we are off to her party this afternoon... (that'll be fun... a dozen five year olds!) and hopefully there endeth the socialising... and I can get back to a squillion jobs waiting for me...

One of my 'jobs' was a trip over to Heavenscent in Croydon on Friday.. I am doing Deb's new website which is due to open this friday the 31st so had a day over there photographing new stock, weighing each item so the shopping cart can calculate it.. working out the inventory.... took Miss Maggie with me which in hindsight was not the best idea... Deb's dog JR took umbrage at a new four legged visitor to HIS domain and took a taste test (bite) of her....poor petal was screaming like a banshee and when I manged to settle her down and check her over found he had drawn blood on her leg...so we called past the Vet's on the way home as she wouldnt walk on it.

Was more concerned that it would get infected but the Vet thought she may have a hairline fracture so he strapped it up like it was broken... gave her a needle for the pain and meds to bring home... had orders to take it off sunday and if she is still not walking on it to take her to my vet for an xray... but its now off and she is running around good as gold...
