A Weekend at Fifi Mountain

Had an amazingly relaxing and fun time this weekend.. helped the daughter move to her new abode "up the mountain".. she's been singing "moving to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches" for the last few weeks lol... 

House is nice.. three bedroom cottage on an AMAZING three acres of gardens and bushland.. used to be a nursery of sorts.. Princess Maggie had a great time.. and is now snoozing on the couch.. very tiring for a little girl lol...ALL the pics below are taken inside the property, from the front gate to (sorta) the back fence.. and I say sorta.. cause I never did find the back fence ROFLMAO

Wintry Days

Its been abysmally cold, wet and windy these past two days   with more of the same on the way for the rest of the week... Winter .. even though she's early is certainly reminding us that summer is over... sigh...

Never been a fan of the cooler months.. and don't subscribe to the notion that its better to be cold than hot as 'you can always put a jumper on and get warm but you cant cool down in summer'... that maybe so.. but you cant sit outside and enjoy the garden or the fresh air when its bitterly cold and raining... and I CAN do that on a hot day LOL.....

The back is improving though the cold snap hasn't helped... will have to wear some extra layers when I head out to work tomorrow vbg... 

I finished this off a couple of weeks ago but had to wait till it arrived at its destination before I posted it here.. its for a collab mixed media book I am in with 6 other ladies - this was my page to her 'Naughty but Nice'

The Vic Stampers meet is on this Sunday too.. .missed it last month but am planning on going this week... I have ordered some of the new Spellbinder Borderbilities dies and cant wait to pick them up LOL.

Up The Hume

Am posting this from Wagga Wagga NSW where I am staying for the next week visiting Barb Thomas

I drove up on New Years Day with little Maggie riding 'shotgun'.  Left at 9m and had a lovely leisurely drive up in good weather.. stopped a couple of times for a coffee and stretch the legs and then we were off again... arriving here just after 2.30pm.  

Weather has been great.. today is 33C and the A/C and chortling away nicely.  On arrival Barb presented me a 'Princess Maggie' paper doll.. just love it.. gives me a smile every time I see it vbg.

Maggie has been enjoying the grass... something she really isnt used to as our small courtyard back yard is all concrete... watching her walking on thick plush grass for the first time was hysterical... she has also learnt how to let herself in and out with the doggie door... and regularly goes outside for a roll in the grass.. she's going to miss that when we go home LOL.

I was also lucky enough to receive a christmas bauble that Barb made...which I also love.. how lucky am I? vbg

There is a local art supply shop here that we are heading off to visit tomorrow.. called in last year and bought some cool stuff.. am looking forward to getting back in there tomorrow... vbg

Adieu 2008

Well the year is drawing to close.. seem to have got here on the bullet train as it really feels like no time at all since New Years Eve 2007.... think its a sign of getting older... time doesnt go faster.. I just forget more of it LOL

Had a nice (but quiet) christmas with hubby and kids.... and the babies... (all my four legged grandchildren ... not that I am complaining.. I dont wish to be a free babysitter for the next generation - though ONE of the two legged variety would be nice) and no, I dont mean a canine amputee.. children.. are you reading this?? LOL

I rarely make 'NY resolutions' as I feel if its worth doing then it should be done immediately - not put off till the new year.. but have vowed this year to start working my way through all the craft books I have bought and actually start making things from them.. am off to a good start with this with my regular thing with Lucy, Elizabeth, Glenda and Barb.

The CS retreat (also on that bullet train) is fast approaching.. from what seemed eons away is now only 10 weeks away!!  Tutors are looking forward to it.. students looking forward it.. I can't wait to unviel everything lol... gonna be the best time...

Also new for 2009 is a new blog  2Cre8Art started by Barb Thomas and myself where we will be featuring tutorials/techniques and challenges each month with regular prizes for contributing.. first technique is up tomorrow .. its an oldie but a goodie and I hope you can play...

I would like to take opportunity to thank Eva and Lucy for their help with the retreat... Barb T, Eva A, Lucy L, Glenda L, Debbie B for their friendship and fun times over the year.. thankyou also to my kids (for NOT moving back home this year) and to everyone who signed up for the retreat... you are in for a great time and it WILL BE like no other retreat you have attended.. that's a promise.

No Art Time This Week......

The schedule hasn't improved much this week... out to dinner Friday night (Japanese) with a friend.. we dont seem to catch up much lately.. both with busy conflicting schedules so it was nice to see her...Went out for dinner again last night with sister and BIL.. something else we dont seem to do much.. but it seems the socialising is either a feast or a famine and I am stuck in ground hog day gluttony.. 

Have been flat out working on the HeavenScent website these last couple of weeks...with four solid days put in since thursday... it went live saturday morning but Deb has new stock arriving daily which needs to go up... so its still a work in progress....

Took this pic last weekend... was standing on sons front veranda and glanced to the right and spotted the Tardis! vbg.  Am a huge Doctor Who fan and was rapt/amazed to see a fully fledged police phone box in the neigbours front yard.  Apparently its their kids cubby house and the light on the top comes on at night too!

BTW.... Maggie is all recovered from her 'ordeal' last weekend..vbg... was running around all fine again by the sunday....
