Two posts in one day!! I'm on fire LOL

Realised I was a week late with my twinchie for Small World of Inchies as this week is now Music so having a lovely Sunday to myself with no likehood of visitors I have spent the day playing and creating... (no likelihood because I know friends are busy today and both children are away on holidays son is in Mallacoota and daughter flew out this morning for Uluru).

I made the Music Twinchie using an image of Enya as the challenge was to do Music that inspires you and I usually have Enya playing when I am creating.  Later in the afternoon, after an email from Jo Wholohan to let me know about their Embrace the Face challenge blog I started that on vbg.  Had a very enjoyable afternoon playing with paints and brushes which I hadnt done in ages (like several years lol) Had forgotten how much I did enjoy playing with paint. 

I followed the instructions in Kelly Rae Roberts book for the background... then started on the main part.. dont know how that will turn out - but following the project in Kelly's book ..I was very happy with the background

And just because its been a few days since I was a proud mamma and put up pics of Maggie.. here is one of her.  She is really developing a little personality now... is very playful.. .drags her teddy bear around with her, chases balls and is finally starting to know her name. 

She has two beds, (she has been promoted from the drawer LOL) one under my computer desk and one under the craft desk, and she follows me from one desk to another and hops in her bed vbg.

Scratch one iPhone cord

ahhhhh puppies vbg....  Maggie is gorgeous... and very good... considering she's a PUPPY and loves to CHEW.. couldnt work out why my iPhone wasnt charging... or why when I plugged it into the computer the USB port came up with a power surge warning.....then I noticed the teeth marks in the cord... and the broken wires...off to the shops to buy a new cord ... detour past the pet shop to buy bitter lime spray to spray on all the other computer cords... and book her into puppy school lol

she had the checkup and second lot of vaccinations today.... she was NOT impressed.... has now been sleeping most of the afternoon... well away from my computer cords!

New Addition To The Family

I brought my new baby home tonight... she is 11 weeks old.. a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.. Blenhiem colouring.... she is sooooooooooo quiet at moment... she was apparently the quietest of the litter.. but new house, new surroundings... we just have big soulful eyes looking at me accusingly...
"where is my mum..........where are my sisters and brothers?" LOL

We have named her "Maggie" and she is off to work with me tomorrow... boss doesnt mind... I work in my own office and the door is always shut... she will travel with her bed and can chill out under the unused workstation...........

Will check the post box tomorrow to see if the galaxy pens are there.. they were posted last week so are due any day............

We went over the son's yesterday for fathers day.. had pork on the spit.. nice day... all the grandchildren were there (the boxer and the poodle vbg).....  Darcy is looking so old now.. (and that aint flash flare on his muzzle... its more white than black now) apparently the blacker the boxer the greyer they go.. and he had a very black face LOL

And as proof thats its spring.. and the horrible wet and cold weather is behind us........ their Magnolia was blooming!!

The Hunt Begins.......

Hubby and I decided this week to get another dog......  we have Cino a Maltese/Bichon cross.. but he is getting on and will be 13 in November......we tend to get a new dog before the older one crosses the rainbow bridge..before Cino we had a miniature Poodle and as she was turning 13 my daughter gave us Cino for Christmas... gave the old girl (the poodle not me wash your mouth out!) a new lease of life and she lived to a ripe of age of 18

Prior to Cino I have always had 'girls'... Cino was the first 'boy' and he will be the last... despite the fact he was desexed at around 4 months he still lifts his leg on everything that comes into the house... including my handbags before I learnt never to put them on the floor.......

This time.. apart from getting a girl.. I have decided to buy a Cavalier King Charles... flirted with the idea of a West Highland but when I read up on the breed it seemed to be too close to Cino (bossy, no road sense)... the Cavalier seems much better suited to us so I rang the Cavalier Assoc and got the name of two breeders who have litters now... one is only local and has one girl left in the colours I want (Tri colour or Blenhiem) this one is a Blenhiem.... so we are off to see her at 3.30pm today!

Do You Ever Wonder.......

why you do some things?  They seemed like a good idea at the time?  You got excited over the 'professionally' written info (i.e designed to sucker you in vbg)

A few sundays ago I placed an order for some books at Amazon... eventually they arrived... I may be getting senile but I dont remember Amazon deliveries taking this long........ or arriving in such poor conditon packing wise... box was almost disentergrated... torn... tape not holding it together anymore... only whatever diety you follow knows how my order managed to stay in box...

Then I looked over what I had ordered... .loved the Angela Cartright book 'In This House'...but wondered what possessed me to buy L.K. Ludwigs Artful Journalling... or 1000 Artist Journal Pages by Dawn DeVries Sokol....no reflection these books.. its me...

I know I have flirted with journalling for a while.. would love to be able to keep a good art journal... but the books I bought drove home the fact if I cant draw or paint... then they wont look like the pages I liked...  (done by professional artists or people that can really paint)... but more like the 50% I dont like........... maybe I need to find a good art class and start weekly classees :-(

I have DJ Pettitt staying with me next year... and I will be good.. I WILL allow her downtime and not grovel at her feet for painting help ROFLMAO

On a less 'whiney' note... Son came over for dinner on Saturday night with DIL (Daughter in Love) and their 'son' Darcy... (dont knock he's less trouble than the two legged variety lol)... he's 6 now .. Darcy not the son.. no.. hang on.. mmmmmm LOL ** slap myself** naughty mother.. LOL

Passage of Time

I am not known in my family for my maternal instincts of small noisy things that dont have four legs.... dont get me wrong.. I have two children of my own that are now adults (notice I dont say 'grown-ups') ...well probably do them a disservice here... they are working adults living independantly in their own homes... but boys are always 27 going on 10 and if you have sons you are probably  now high fiving me....

however I digress.... I seem to do that a lot as I get older *another heavy sigh*

However,  4 years ago.. I attended the first birthday party of Cody... the young bub in mums arms there.. his mother is my first born neice and as such I have a soft spot for her and we have always had a great relationship.. well, still do..past tense should be present tense there....SEE! I digressed again....*heavy sigh*...

as I said.. its been FOUR YEARS he is now five years old and quite a nice young lad.. for something that doesnt have four legs... however if he is now five.. it means I am also four years older.... where have they gone?  yes its all about me, try to keep up here... four years? gawd.. gone in a blink... Happy Birthday Cody!!

Fairies in the Garden

Received some pics from DIL of toadstools they have growing in their front garden. 

These are HUGE saucer shaped things that I spotted on a recent visit, they look postively fairy like and we expected them to vanish overnight with the travelling fey troupe, but they were still there next morning.
